Luxury Vinyl Plank and Luxury Vinyl Tile are designed to mimic their counterpart’s solid hardwood and tile, but is made entirely of vinyl.
Luxury Vinyl Plank

Cons
-Minimal Return on Investment compared to solid hardwood
-Vinyl is susceptible to sun damage, so direct sunlight will cause fading
-Vinyl flooring emits gasses and volatile chemicals into your home called VOCs. The government
-Sets strict manufacturing regulations on levels, but it’s not always enough. There are widespread reports of health issues that trace back to vinyl flooring. Always look for flooring that advertises low VOC.
Luxury Vinyl Tile
Pros:
-It mimics the appearance of natural tile, some even use grout in-between, for a fraction of
the cost of its counterpart tile and stone.
-Water resistant
-Material used creates a softer warmer underfoot.
-Luxury vinyl tile is more slip-resistant then other hard surface flooring
Cons:
-Because of the sensitive nature of some luxury vinyl, your subfloor may require a lot of prep
if it is uneven or wavy, which means added expense
-Will not improve the value of your home in the same way that hardwood or tile does.
Laminate
Laminate is compressed layers of fiber board with and outer veneer that mimics wood.
Pros:
-Durable and resists scratches, moisture and wear and tear.
-It can be installed in most rooms in home, including basements and over concrete.
-Laminate flooring’s tough surface resists stains,easy to clean and maintain
Cons:
-Not as visually appealing as counterparts
-Can not be sanded and refinished
